As The Clash Say…

London‘s Burning!

… but so is Birmingham and the rest of the UK, too!

These high temperatures are nice… too bad they come at the cost of high pollution as well. I wonder how long until we have some sort of 9/11-type event with our climate, as only then will governments / people really start to take the effects of human pollution on our environment seriously.

Sorry – you’re suggesting that hot temperatures may lead to an act of mass terrorism?

hmmm I guess that could happen, if the terrorists get pissed off at having to sit on the ridiculously slow trains without any air conditioning?

Assuming you’re serious in your question: No, I just meant an event (and, more importantly, the corresponding reaction) of that scale. I don’t know what such an event would be though. I mean, even if a superhurricane swept through Washington D.C. and destroyed everything it’s path there would be endless arguments over what exactly was responsible (e.g. “god”, freak accident, global warming, etc). So perhaps what I said in the post was just silly speculation?
