Yesterday I was charged less per litre then when I filled my car in August. The problem is we’ve been told that oil is going to run out soon for the last thirty years and it feels like the boy who cried wolf, yes one day it will be for real but hardly anybody believes it anymore.

The problem is that no one knows exactly how soon “soon” is, so whenever that is it’s best to be prepared, right? :)

I am a member of greenpeace, WWF (just so you understand which side of the fence I’m really on:), I know there is a problem and my experience is that this sort of event is attended by people who know there is a problem. We can only truely be prepared if the vast majority go along with us and most of the population will not believe a message that has been repeated over many years and not come true. If you track the long term price of petroleum in real terms over the last few decades it has not shown any of the behaviour of a scarce resource and until it does there will be little clamour for change.
