Council House Clock

Above the North West corner of the Council House, towering above Chamberlain Square, stands the Council House Clock, one of the landmarks of the city centre and affectionately known as “Big Brum”.

A plaque on the wall beneath it reads:

Council House Clock

The clock in this tower indicates Greenwich Mean Time on the first stroke of the hour bell

The minute hand moves forward on the completion of each half minute
